Kyrgyzstan Country Coordinator, Director of Communications

Mrs Indira Zhakipova is the Program Manager of the Ecois-Bishkek Public Association, operating in the region over 15 years. Indira is well known across the Central Asia region for her environmental information newsletter and the editor of the environmental news site www.ekois.net . In her 20+ years long career as environmental activist Indira gained a lot of experience in international projects that focused on: chemical safety, heavy metals, medical wastes, obsolete pesticides, soil remediation, environmental awareness and education. Indira devoted her life to increasing the capacity of environmental non-governmental organizations in Kyrgyzstan in solving environmental problems through informing, sharing experiences, and expanding access to environmental information.
