Kakha Rukhaia has been working for over 18 years on environmental issues, including projects sponsored by the Georgian Government, USAID, EBRD, and UNDP. His work included:

• Development of national environmental action plans and state reports
• Preparation of the Chemical Profile of Georgia
• Environmental impact assessment reports and environmental
• Waste Initial Inventory Document and Waste Management Plan

Kakha Rukhaia is a certified trainer and teacher. His college course on waste management and a textbook were approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. He has developed a special training program on waste management and conducted series of trainings for different audiences:

• High, secondary and professional education institutions
• Private companies working on waste management
• Central and local government
• Nongovernmental organizations
